Dataset.set_reference_flows()

Calculate reference flows based on (relative) deviation from natural flows.

Deviations are calculated using abstraction sensitivity bands (ASBs). The fractional deviations associated with each flow percentile for each ASB are given in the ASBPercentages table. ASBs per waterbody are given in AbsSensBands_NBB. This is how the reference flow is calculated in WRGIS.

A call to this method sets (or resets) the self.refs.data attribute (dataframe). Any existing columns in this dataframe will be replaced. The method may be useful if changes have been made to natural flows or ASBs for one or more waterbodies. Otherwise, calling this method is not required in a typical use case, as pre-calculated reference flows are distributed as part of SACO datasets.
